KAT CASCONE
Kat began her journey with yoga in the late 1990s, when she was searching for a gentle way to recover from late-stage Lyme disease. Yoga soon became a daily practice that deepened as the years went by. Although she started yoga primarily for the physical benefits, along the way she noticed that she felt calmer, stronger, more embodied. Eventually she knew that she needed to share what she has learned through yoga. Kat received her 200 hour certification through Yoga Garden in San Francisco with Max Kopeikin, Denelle Numis, Christie Pitko, Europa Grace, among others, and has additional training in restorative yoga. A lifelong dancer, Kat studied ballet for nearly 30 years with the late, great Augusta Moore, who pioneered somatic practices in ballet, bringing Feldenkrais and Body-Mind Centering concepts to classical dance, which in turn, informs Kat's yoga teaching.
Kat believes that yoga is an essential tool for healthy aging in mind, body, and spirit, and that can start at any age. Her early morning vinyasa classes will strengthen you, stretch you, energize you, ground you, and get you ready for your day. Kat believes that every body is different, that everyone's practice is uniquely their own, and she encourages modifying poses and using props to suit each individual on any given day.
