After working for many years as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Alexis was drawn to massage therapy for its ability to nurture people with caring touch, and her enthusiasm for giving massage is apparent. Alexis is a graduate of San Francisco School of Massage where she studied Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Technique, and Deep Tissue. She is also a Certified AromaTouch Technique Practitioner and is very excited to offer this gentle Essential Oil treatment.

Alexis approaches each bodywork session with respect, an open heart, and a clear intention for the healing and well-being of her clients.

As a lifelong athletic overachiever in running, mountain biking, adventure racing, and team sports, I found myself with a host of soft tissue injuries in my mid-20s. Seeking to avoid chronic pain, I came to yoga as a fully-fledged skeptic. After a few classes of trying to “win” each asana, I slowly realized that not only was yoga healing my injuries, it was also teaching me patience and a new way of approaching sports and life.

Since then, I’ve studied with numerous wonderful teachers in a variety of yogic disciplines, and I enjoy sharing their wisdom with my students. My classes incorporate elements of Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Qigong into a flowing vinyasa practice that provides options to engage everyone from the new yogi to the advanced practitioner. I’ve taught yoga on both coasts and recently returned to California after ten great years in New England.

As a massage therapist, I also use a multidisciplinary style with a focus full-body function. I’m trained in Swedish, sports massage, deep tissue, neuromuscular, and trigger point release. My massages incorporate the elements and styles that suit the client’s specific needs and requests.

I’m thrilled to join the great people at Ocean Yoga and look forward to joining the Pacifica community on this shared journey to optimum health!

Lisa Cockerill graduated from the National Holistic Institute in 1996, and has over 10 years of experience as a massage therapist. She specializes in Swedish, Shiatsu, and Deep Tissue. Lisa also incorporates Hot Stone Massage in all of her treatments. Her massage style is deep without overdoing it, incorporating stretching as needed. Hot stones and stretching help muscles relax and allow the massage to flow. Lisa adapts her style to the needs of each individual client.
Lori started working the front desk at Ocean Yoga in February 2013 whilst attending the esthetician program at the Cinta Aveda Institute. She is now a licensed esthetician. Though she has been a student of yoga for only a short time, she has incorporated yoga poses into her daily exercise routine for years. Lori finds joy in working in such a community-oriented environment, where hugs and smiles are the norm.
Born and raised in Germany, Marianne discovered the seeds of yoga, meditation and bodywork while traveling extensively in Asia. She has been studying and practicing yoga and meditation for over 20 years. In 1994, she was certified with the Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Society in Austria and continued her studies in the Iyengar and Astanga Vinyasa traditions, completing the teacher-training program at the Iyengar Institute in San Francisco. Marianne has been a student of Shandor Remete for over ten years and his Shadow Yoga greatly influences her practice and teaching. Her study of T'ai Chi and Qi Gong has also deepened her awareness of and connection to the presence of the universal life force energy. Marianne’s asana teachings draw from the essential elements of many great teachers such as Shandor Remete, Ana Forest, Andre Lappa, Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley, Doug Keller, S.N.Goenka and Adyashanti, as well as from her own experience as a Bodyworker and from her study of the Nature of Mind.

Marianne’s classes provide a supportive and light-hearted atmosphere where students are encouraged to learn to explore the harmonics of postural alignment and the connection between body, breath and mind. At the beginning of the month Marianne creates and offers a new vinyasa sequence, where one's focus on transitions, the "going in to" and "coming out of" a posture is as important as being in the posture. The practice becomes a meditation in motion. Marianne designs her classes with experienced beginners and intermediate level students in mind, although beginners and all sincere students are welcome. Marianne has been a certified Bodywork Practitioner since 1996. She offers Shiatsu, Therapeutic Thai Massage, Deep Tissue, Chi Nei Tsang, Prenatal Massage, and On-Site Chair Massage. Marianne is also available for Somatic Yoga Therapy and Private yoga coaching sessions.

As a lifelong dancer, Samantha Corsiglia was introduced to yoga in 1997, and grew to appreciate its balancing ways; not only physically, but spiritually and emotionally. Being exposed to Kripalu yoga, inspired by Rodney Yee, and venturing through various types of yoga over the years, she realized how valuable yoga had become - how it was the ‘glue’ that kept her together, as a mama, as a practitioner, as a human… that moment of mindfulness, noticing the breath, bringing calm to the mind, the spirit and being present.
In continuing to dedicate herself to the service of Women, Children and Families, in her Women’s Integrative Health Practice - Samantha went on to Yoga Tree’s Lighting the Path Yoga Teacher Training with Pete Guinosso, (Anna Forrest Inspired Vinyasa Flow), and continued to study Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga Teacher Training with Jane Austen.
Samantha is honored to guide the Mamas of the Coast through the dance of Pregnancy and Postpartum health through yogic movement and beyond.
