Yoga has been a constant in Ally’s life since the first day her mom brought her to a class 7 years ago. She is deeply grateful for the practice because of how it has always continued to ebb and flow with her as she has evolved and for the infinite amount of teachings and many ways to connect with what yoga is. Ally’s classes are influenced by her teachers, experiences, lessons and travels; all of which have illuminated her path. She has struggled with a chronic disc injury in her lower back that has taught her how to listen to her body and to be an especially compassionate teacher for those suffering with physical pain. She teaches from the heart and truly believes intentional movement is one of the best sources of therapy and ways we can create a union between our mind, body and soul. She is forever a student and a passionate teacher of everything she has learned on her journey thus far. Just Breathe.
Ally Subrahmanyam instructs the following:
This class is an invitation to slow down and restore your nervous system. Restorative poses and breathing exercises are sequenced to help release the body and mind of tension and stress. Through the use of props and long holds we will gently open the body, experience deep relaxation and nourish our energy. No experience necessary, all are welcome!
Yin yoga is a quiet practice with deep stretches that are held for 3-5 minutes with transitional poses and energy release in between. Yin is a mindful practice centered around the theory that the yoga sequences affect bodily systems and organ health as well as the muscles and outer body. Yin combines still, deep stretching, with mindfulness in a practice that balances out a more dynamic yoga practice. Aromatherapy is utilized as a tool to elevate your experience. Suitable for all levels.
The holidays are near! And while they are so lovely, we can begin to feel off balance because of the many commitments, constant movement, and continuous social interaction.
Come take a pause to ground and restore your energy during the busy holiday season with a long reflective, restorative practice. With the use of more props, longer holds, guided meditation, essential oils, the sound of the crystal bowl, and Reiki, we will unwind and release tension in the body and soothe the nervous system. Give yourself the opportunity to initiate the nourishing rest you need in order to show up fully with your loved ones during the holiday gatherings. This workshop is for all levels and will truly be a gift to yourself and a great one to give to someone special.
